Solution: Start vrepair manually and enable the VRepair option to purge all deleted files. Then perform a new check on the volume. Finally, you should be able to mount the volume as usual.
Warning: This method will permanently purge all files currently marked as deleted, making it impossible to salvage them. Also, VRepair will report an unusual amount of errors (5-6 digits) while scanning the free space, this is normal.
