Zyxel routers PPP connect to Cisco then disconnect immediately
Problem:
When using Cisco routers for dial-in, Xyxel routers for dial-up and RADIUS for authentication, some or all nodes are unable to connect. "/var/log/messages" looks like this: "Aug 7 09:40:01 gw 120532: 8w3d: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface BRI1/2:2, changed state to up Aug 7 09:40:02 gw 120533: 8w3d: %ISDN-6-CONNECT: Interface BRI1/2:2 is now connected to ######## Aug 7 09:40:03 gw 120534: 8w3d: %ISDN-6-DISCONNECT: Interface BRI1/2:2 disconnected from ######## #####, call lasted 2 seconds Aug 7 09:40:04 gw 120535: 8w3d: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface BRI1/2:2, changed state to down" The "detail" log under "/usr/adm/radacct" shows "Acct-Terminate-Cause = User-Request".

Solution:
In plain english, this means that the Xyzel router misinterprets the successful connect message and hangs up.

Upgrade the router firmware.
