Windows 2003 NLB clustering fails on VMware ESX platform
Problem:
When trying to cluster guest machines across VMware ESX nodes, the nodes inexplicably becomes unreachable.
 
Solution:
1. If the nodes were converted from physical machines, use RegEdit to remove all traces of the physical network adapters
2. Change the cluster from Unicast to Multicast mode
3. Disable RARP transmission in the VMware vSwitches by setting 'Notify Switches' to 'No' under NIC Teaming.
