Enter keyword:

Linux: Set date from command line
Problem:
My date and/or time is incorrect and for some reason I can not use NTP or any other means of clock syncronization.

Solution:
The proper syntax is 'date MMDDhhmm'

For example
$ date 04221350
Wed Apr 22 13:50:00 CEST 2009

(The timezone will ofcourse be different if you live somewhere else)
