Linux: An error occurred while preparing the installation system
Problem:
Under SuSE linux 10.1, when attempting to add an installation source, YaST says "Adding catalog" and then fails with the message "An error occurred while preparing the installation system". The same installation source works on other systems. Also, certain sources can be added successfully. After struggling with this problem for weeks, I finally came across the solution -- so simple it almost made me cry...
 
Solution:
Install "unzip".
