BackupExec catalogs taking too much disk space on SYS:
Problem:
BackupExec stores the tape catalog and history log files on the SYS volume by default. THis can be a problem since most Netware servers are set up with a minimal SYS volume.
 
Solution:
Create a separate volume for catalog and history log files. Shut down the BackupExec server and copy the directories "CATALOGS" and "HISTORY" to the alternate location. Then edit the file SYS:BKUPEXEC\BESRVR.CFG and change the following two lines:

Path_for_catalog_files = [SERVERNAME]\VOL1:\BCKUPEXEC\CATALOGS\
Path_for_history_files = [SERVERNAME]\VOL1:\BCKUPEXEC\HISTORY\

Finally, restart the BackupExec server.
