ePIC.pm, category_tree refuses to recurse into sub categories
Problem:
The category tree appears to be correct but category_tree() refuses to recurse into child categories, even though expand=>in_path is passed.
 
Solution:
Verify that the fields 'has_children' and 'has_parents' exist in the 'categories' table, and that they contain the correct values. These values are updated by do_category_maintenance() after every update to the category hierarchy.
