Terminal Server, NVC Ndesk shows all hosts as "not running NVC"
Problem:
The remote administation tool for Norman Virus Control, Ndesk, shows all hosts on the network as "not running NVC", and none of the hosts can be managed.
 
Solution:
This is a known problem with Ndesk version 1.1 and older, when running it remotely on a Windows Terminal Server. Either run it on the local console, or upgrade to a more recent version of Ndesk.

Note: Ndesk (and the other administrative tools distributed with NVC) are NOT upgraded automatically by Norman Internet Update. Instead, you must download the latest release from their website and install it on top of the existing installation. As long as you ONLY check the [x] Administrative tools checkbox, this will not affect other parts of your installation. This has been confirmed by Norman as the correct procedure.
