New servers
Our venerable mail/web/login server Hermes has finally been migrated to a newer VMware ESXi server with faster CPUs, faster RAID and a whooping 2.5 times more memory than the old one. That's right, up from 2 to 5 Gbytes, let it not be said that Linux is demanding. This server was kindly donated by Ferryman, along with the hardware powering out new "always-incremental" enterprise class backup system. This will hopefully mean slightly better service to our members and forum users. If nothing else, the increase in heat from the basement should prevent the dishwasher from freezing during the next winter.Domations are still welcome, suitable hardware preferred over cash :-)
